Policy on Diversity, Equal Treatment and Inclusion
Introduction
AB Werkt considers diversity, equal treatment and inclusion as fundamental values within our organisation. This means creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive working environment where the qualities and talents of all employees can fully thrive. AB Werkt is committed to promoting a workplace where all (future) employees feel respected, valued and treated equally, regardless of their background, characteristics or identity.
AB Werkt also stands for an inclusive labour market. The temporary employment sector is a gateway to the labour market for many groups, which brings great responsibility to prevent discrimination.
AB Werkt strives for a company culture in which everyone is sustainably engaged in embracing this mission and experiences it as such.
Objective
To promote diversity, equal treatment and inclusion within AB Werkt, in the working environments of our clients, and within the labour market in general. To combat all forms of discrimination. To create and offer a work environment in which all candidates and employees feel safe, respected and have – and experience – equal opportunities to realise their full potential.
Principles
To achieve this objective, the following principles apply with regard to diversity and inclusion within our organisation:
Combating labour market discrimination
-
Job postings contain no preferences regarding gender, age or origin.
-
We do not differentiate during application processes based on gender, ethnicity or age. We do not process such specific requests from clients.
-
Selection criteria are defined in such a way that they do not contain any directly or indirectly discriminatory elements.
-
When registering temporary workers or internal candidates, we do not record information about gender, gender identity or expression, race, age, nationality, religion or beliefs, political views, sexual orientation, disability, or health status.
-
We select candidates based on skills, talents and experience, guided solely by job-related requirements.
-
We actively communicate our anti-discrimination policy to clients and engage in dialogue to raise awareness where necessary.
Creating an inclusive work environment where employees feel welcome, safe and valued
-
We continue to build a diverse workforce representing various backgrounds, experiences, perspectives and ideas.
-
We do not judge employees based on age, gender, sexual orientation, political opinion, race or skin colour, nationality or origin, marital status, disability, chronic illness, religion, type of contract or working hours.
-
Our diversity and inclusion policy is a standard part of the onboarding process for internal staff.
-
We foster a work environment that reflects the values of inclusion and diversity by encouraging open communication, welcoming feedback, and offering equal career and development opportunities.
-
We provide training and development to support employees in expanding their knowledge and understanding of diversity and inclusion.
-
We promote a culture of respect, understanding and safety for all employees.
-
A D&I working group has been established to help develop, implement and maintain our policy. This group includes employees from various departments and backgrounds.
-
The diversity and inclusion policy is actively promoted internally (intranet/staff portal) and externally (website/terms and conditions).
-
We use internal communication channels to inform employees about D&I initiatives, successes and challenges.
-
Inclusive language and visuals are used in all our communications.
-
External tools are used to monitor commitment to D&I and take action if needed.
-
We prefer to work with partners and suppliers who share our values.
-
Employees who feel discriminated against can contact their supervisor, a confidential advisor or the HR department. Our whistleblower policy includes procedures for reporting discrimination and other undesirable behaviour, and protection for those who report.
-
We enforce a zero-tolerance policy regarding discrimination, bullying, intimidation and other unwanted behaviour.
Shared responsibility
Working together also means sharing responsibility for a healthy work climate and collaboration.
The AB Werkt management is primarily responsible for active policy on D&I, social safety, and equal treatment. This includes regularly evaluating progress and keeping the policy up to date.
Managers and team leaders share responsibility for fostering a safe and inclusive work climate. Each leader must act as a role model and ambassador, promoting, complying with, and actively living the policy.
AB Werkt expects all employees to actively contribute to building and maintaining an inclusive, safe and respectful working environment, to prevent and/or report undesirable behaviour, and not to discriminate or comply with discriminatory requests from clients.
Conclusion
Diversity and inclusion are essential to AB Werkt’s success. With this policy, we aim to create a work environment where all employees feel valued, can make use of their full potential and bring various talents to life. AB Werkt is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion at every level of the organisation and will continue to actively work toward achieving and maintaining this goal.
